Associate Professor in the Department of Fundamental Physics at the University of Barcelona. He leads the OpenSystemsUB research group, which focuses on citizen participation and artistic practices as an alternative way of doing science. He works on complex systems, particularly in social and economic contexts.

Mobile World Scholar Congress 2018
Silver Prize winner in the Mobile World Scholar Challenge for submission entitled “Network Efficiency based on Mobility” (Authors Albert Díaz-Guilera and Josep Perelló, from DataScience@UB & UBICS (Institut of Complex Systems) Research groups from University of Barcelona)
The study, which involved researchers from the TECNIO Data Science Group at the University of Barcelona, together with researchers from the University of Zaragoza, Rovira i Virgili University and Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M), was based on an experiment organised by Barcelona City Council and Barcelona Citizen Science Office within the framework of the DAU Barcelona festival.
