The General Management of Development Cooperation commissioned DataScience@UB to organize the debate session on the participatory process ‘Vision 2030: The Catalan contribution to global development’, devoted to the world of data in the field of development cooperation. Development cooperation is a fundamental instrument to demonstrate and give effect to the commitment and responsibility of Catalonia with the great problems of humanity. Problems that we once placed in the «South», but which are manifested today in all societies, including Catalan.

The General Management for Development Cooperation and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation want to face the new challenges of Agenda 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

To do this, it is a participatory process that wants to count on both the leading actors in Catalan cooperation and with organizations from other countries. We do it with three objectives:

-Obtain a vision of how the development cooperation of Catalonia must work in relation to Agenda 2030. It is what we call Vision 2030.
-Sustain the future Management Plan for development cooperation 2019-2022.
-Expand and diversify relationships, and create new opportunities for joint work.
